DEI in Canada news media is super controversial.
An attempt at inclusive hiring often imply "we'll accept anybody but a white man". These are insights from studying public discourse, media bias, by an expert political scientist.

Public broadcasting has hiring practices rooted in diversity, equity and inclusion. Arguably, in Canadian media, diminishes meritocracy, introduces bias in political perspectives and journalism.

Consequently, Canada news media; either the CTV, CBC news, The National among several others, often caught betwixt the need for objective news, diversity and inclusion, and favoritism for the liberal left Canadian politics, play a significant role in media bias.

There remains the question:
Is it time to defund the CBC- Pierre Poilievre?

Canada, under Justin Trudeau's government, spends a fortune on federally funded media. Largely, CBC news is a financial sinkhole, condemned by the conservative party of Canada and key conservative voices in Canada. This has eroded the public's trust in media and zero motivation in the news industry in Canada.

Canada politics, similar to US politics, is becoming divisive amidst calls to defund the CBC and stop the horrendous government ventures on federally funded media, particularly, amidst a cost of living crisis and housing crisis in Canada. Others, including Elon Musk on Twitter, has called for defunding the CBC.

We explore the intricacies of federally funded media and government funded media, and how political figures like Pierre Poilievre are influencing this movement.
