The destroyer "Xining" and the frigate "Lin Yi" of the Naval Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA Navy) arrived in Vladivostok today with a business call.

A solemn welcoming ceremony was held at the 33rd berth in the main base of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet), to which, in addition to Russian sailors, the compatriots of the guests living in the capital of Primorye were invited. According to the Russian tradition, Chinese sailors were greeted with bread and salt.

At the pier of the senior campaign of the detachment of PLA Navy ships, the deputy commander of the Primorsky Flotilla of heterogeneous forces of the Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Alexander Schwartz, welcomed the PLA.

- The friendship between our peoples is fruitful, and we are glad to strengthen it with such friendly visits. Our naval powers continue to jointly protect the peace and security of the Asia-Pacific region in the maritime expanses, Rear Admiral Alexander Schwartz said in his welcoming speech.

- We just arrived, having docked our ships at the pier, and immediately felt the warmth and kindness of your people. We are ready, together with the Russian Pacific Fleet, to make common efforts for cooperation and the continuation of fraternal friendship between the two fleets," Rear Admiral Yao Chun Yun, Deputy Commander of the Navy of the Northern theater of Military Operations of the PLA, said in response.

During the parking of the PLA Navy ships in Vladivostok, the crews of the ships will take part in sports and cultural events. Excursions around the city and a visit to the Museum of the Pacific Fleet are planned for foreign sailors.

The business call of the PLA Navy ships will last until September 21, after which the ships of the two countries will go to sea to conduct a joint Russian-Chinese naval exercise "Beibu/Interaction - 2024".
