Haluski, a traditional Polish and Slovak dish, is made with cabbage and noodles, often accompanied by onions, butter, and sometimes bacon or kielbasa. Here's a recipe for making a delicious haluski with cabbage.

Ingredients:
1 medium cabbage, chopped
1 large onion, sliced
1 lb egg noodles (you can also use kluski noodles or any wide pasta)
4-6 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional: bacon, kielbasa, or sausage (for extra flavor)
Instructions:
Cook the noodles:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the cabbage and onion:

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt 2-3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and golden, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook until it begins to soften, stirring occasionally. This may take around 10-15 minutes. You want the cabbage to be tender but still slightly crisp.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine the ingredients:

Once the cabbage is cooked, add the drained noodles to the skillet.
Stir everything together and add the remaining butter (more if desired) to help coat the noodles and cabbage.
Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is heated through.
Optional: Add meat

If you're using bacon or sausage, cook it in a separate pan until crispy or browned. Drain the excess fat and then add it to the cabbage and noodle mixture before serving.
Serve:

Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper, if needed.
Serve hot, and enjoy!
Tips:
For extra flavor, you can sauté the cabbage with a bit of garlic or smoked paprika.
Some variations include using sour cream or adding a touch of vinegar to the cabbage to enhance the flavor.
