Islamic militants attacked a military training camp and the airport in Mali’s capital, Bamako, leading to deadly gunbattles.

Troops neutralized the attackers, though no casualty details were provided. The al-Qaida-linked group JNIM claimed responsibility, stating they caused significant losses.

At least 15 suspects were arrested. The attack prompted the temporary closure of the airport, which reopened later, the Associated Press has reported.
