Vegetable Stew
First stew of the season.
Here is what you need to make it:
1. Crockpot
2. Cooking spray
3. 10 large potatoes
4. 2 large white onions
5. 2 large green peppers
6. Two small bags of baby carrots
7. 2 cartons of vegetables broth
8. 4 cups of cold water- we used a small bowl to mesure.
9. Salt, pepper and crushed red peppers to taste (optional)
How to make it if your going to eat for dinner that night: you can also put the cut vegetables in a ziplock bag overnight to cook the next day.
1. Take crockpot and spray the crockpot with cooking spray.
2. Dice up your potatoes.
3. Dice up your white onions. Tip: Try not to cry.
4. Cut up green peppers.
5. Open two bags of baby carrots. No need to cut them.
6.Put the potatoes, white onions amd green peppers, and baby carrots into your crockpot.
7. Add (1) carton of vegetable broth into crockpot.
8. Cook on high for one hour, be sure to stir from time to time with a spoon so it doesn’t stick. 8B: add salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper to crockpot. (Optional) stir in seasonings.
9. Add two cups of water to your crockpot.
This is so the food doesn’t burn.
10. Continuing cooking on high for another hour, again stir food. 11..And add in two more cups of water.
12. Then add in your 2nd carton of vegetable broth.
13. Continue cooking food on high until vegetables are tender. Be sure to stir food so it doesn’t burn as it cooks.
The food is done when all the
vegetables are tender. We cooked our food for a total of ten hours (this is a guess. Cooking times vary.)
Sever in a big bowl with a piece of bread.
Enjoy
