Zep 2:8
"I have heard the taunting of Moab And the revilings of the sons of Ammon, With which they have taunted My people And become arrogant against their territory.
Jeremiah also spoke of the arrogance and ensuing judgment of Moab Jer 48:27-33) and Ammon Jer 49:1
Zep 2:9
"Therefore, as I live," declares the LORD of hosts, The God of Israel, "Surely Moab will be like Sodom, And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah-- A place possessed by nettles and salt pits, And a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them, And the remainder of My nation will inherit them."
Zep 2:10
This they will have in return for their pride, because they have taunted and become arrogant against the people of the LORD of hosts.
The Moabites were later absorbed by the Arabians:
"Decline and Fall
Sometime during the Persian period Moab disappears from the extant historical record. Its territory was subsequently overrun by waves of tribes from northern Arabia, including the Kedarites and (later) the Nabataeans. In Nehemiah iv. 7 the Arabs instead of the Moabites are the allies of the Ammonites.[26] Their country, however, continued to be known by its biblical name for some time; when the Crusaders occupied the area, the castle they built to defend the eastern part of the Kingdom of Jerusalem was called Krak des Moabites." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moab
The Ammonites were eventually also a part of Arabia.
