As people of faith, we understand the importance of caring for our bodies – they are, after all, temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Maintaining a cancer free body is a vital aspect of this stewardship.

The Seventh-Day Adventists champion the "Whole Health" message, a holistic approach to well-being that extends beyond mere diet. It emphasizes honoring God's creation by nurturing our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. Embracing this philosophy allows us to express gratitude for the remarkable gift of life as well as incorporating the Sabbath rest.

Science reinforces this concept. Plant-based foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts are powerhouses for managing and preventing cancer. Additionally, this approach aligns with the principles of clean living outlined in Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

The Bible itself offers valuable insights for healthy living. Avoiding unclean foods serves as a foundational principle for making choices that benefit both our faith and our cardiovascular health (Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14). However, moderation is key! Even healthy options like avocados should be enjoyed in reasonable portions.

Consulting with a doctor or registered dietitian is an excellent first step. They can develop a customized plan that integrates your faith, dietary preferences, and overall health.

Think of it as a collaborative effort – you, your healthcare professional, and God, all working together to optimize your well-being.

Overall, by combining our faith with a plant-based approach and scientific knowledge, we can take charge of our health and live a vibrant life. It's about honoring God's gift, making informed choices, and ensuring happy and healthy bodies for years to come.
