Biden Says Secret Service ‘Needs More Help’ After Apparent Trump Assassination Attempt

On Monday, President Joe Biden emphasized the need for increased personnel within the U.S. Secret Service following a second apparent assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“I want to be clear: the Secret Service needs more help, and Congress should respond to their needs,” Biden told reporters at the White House.

He expressed gratitude that Trump was unharmed after an incident on Sunday, where the Secret Service fired upon a gunman, who was subsequently arrested, at Trump’s golf course in Florida, Barron’s has reported.
