Worshipping with sisters Tabitha and Grace- Jesus loves you Mission- Reading from Matthew 15:1-39
In this Matthew 15, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for not following God's commandments. The Canaanite woman experiences a miracle. Jesus miraculously feeds 4,000 people. Hallelujah!
What God commands us to do is more important than any command, advice, teaching, or tradition in this world. Unfortunately, there are many believers who do not dare to break the traditions that have been passed down and do not dare to obey God.
True faith will always be shown in actions that are consistent with faith. And through this true faith, we will experience miracles when we rely on Jesus Christ with true faith.
Matthew 15 can be applied to our daily lives to produce good results. "Honoring God is not just about words, but also about the heart."
Matthew 15 points out that The Pharisees and the scribes believed in the teachings handed down from their fathers, so they criticized those who did not follow the tradition. But for God, the Word of God is more important, and those who believe in the Word of God will definitely experience miracles in their lives.
✝️✝️ Jesus Christ rebuked the Pharisees and teachers as hypocrites because they took the traditions passed down from their ancestors and canceled the obedience to God's word. And they still had the nerve to tell everyone that they loved God with all their hearts.
Love for God is not measured by the mouth, but by the sincerity with which they have God. Those who truly love God, they will obey God wholeheartedly.
✝️✝️ If a blind person lets another blind person lead them, both of them will fall into the pit together. When anyone follows the path of those who do not follow God's word, they will eventually meet the same bad consequences that those who do not follow God's word will receive.
Today!!! Are you brothers and sisters following God's word or are you following the ways of this world, which everyone else does?
✝️✝️ What goes into our bodies does not defile us, but what comes out of our hearts does. What goes into our bodies is just a physical thing, but!!! God examines deep into the human heart. God does not look at external behavior. But God looks at the inner attitude that results in external behavior.
Today!!! Some people may think that we love God, fear God, but God looks deep into our hearts and sees whether what we do today comes from love, from fear of God, or from the desire to be accepted by others, or from being considerate of others.
The Jews looked down on the Gentiles by using the simile of dogs. Jesus used this simile to show others the faith of the Canaanite woman because He already knew what the woman would say. She came to ask Jesus to help her daughter, but Jesus rejected her and used the words that the Jews often used to refer to their own people. However, she still asked Jesus.
- What made this woman come to ask the Jews who looked down on her?
- What made this woman continue to ask even though she was being compared with the words that the Jews often used to look down on her?
The answer is that there is no other way. It is because of the great love of a mother. And this mother believed without a doubt that there was only one person who could save her daughter, and that was Jesus Christ.
This story clearly proves that the Gentiles whom the Jews looked down on and who did not know the Word of God still had many beliefs. But the Jews themselves, the Pharisees and the scribes, were those who knew the Word of God very well. They knew that what Jesus taught and what Jesus did were in accordance with the Word of God. But they still did not believe.
Having knowledge of the Word of God is good, but what is more important is that after knowing, there must be faith. We must act according to the Word of God. Through faith, Brothers and sisters, you will see the greatness of God through your obedience to God's word.
✝️✝️ Brothers and sisters, this picture will always happen throughout the life of Jesus Christ's service: when Jesus performs any miracles, the people who see it will praise God, not the Father, because everything Jesus does is to honor the Father. Today!!! When we successfully do good things, who usually receives the honor for doing them?
✝️✝️ Even though the disciples had previously experienced Jesus feeding more than 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, when it came to a similar event, there were more than 4,000 people that they had to feed, but the disciples still said to Jesus, "In this wilderness, where can we find enough food to feed so many people?" Even though this time, they had more bread than last time.
If we do not remember the experiences that God has helped us in the past, those experiences will be of no use to us today
