Sacked Jewish Chronicle writer now resorts to threats of violence!

Right, so the Jewish Chronicle, having been resurrected once already from the media graveyard after multiple instances of, let’s call them inaccuracies resulted in it’s not at all lamented demise, is once again facing interment following yet more of the same and this time we can only hope it remains dead and buried.
A string of articles it has produced, all by the same hack, have been deleted because it turns out they were all lies and given the JC was peddling hard for Israel and the person writing these articles was apparently a former IDF figure, perhaps the dishonesty written is only actually a surprise to the Chronicle. A member of the IDF lying? Surely not!
Having been saved by a conglomerate of fundamentally establishment media peeps, when the paper collapsed under the weight of it’s own lies previously, their investment appears to be imploding as a further 3 journalists walk away from the Jewish Chronicle amidst this latest debacle, not wishing to be associated with it any longer, so if this is the beginning of the end of the Jewish Chronicle – again – let’s hope that this time it turns out to be permanent.
Right, so the Jewish Chronicle. For most of us I daresay it was a publication we were not aware of until the antisemitism smears against Jeremy Corbyn took hold, now having been revealed to be the brainchild of the Labour right, who have at last admitted they weaponised the issue to take Corbyn down, the change we could have had under his plans, denied to us by the same people that have now been awarded a supermajority to govern the country with for the next 5 years.
It is the oldest Jewish newspaper publication in the world, having been in circulation since 1841, but it’s no exaggeration to say it has been run into the floor in recent years and been successfully sued and adjudicated against on multiple occasions.
For example in 2019, the Chronicle libelled the Palestinian Relief and Development Fund by saying they had links to terrorist activity, winning them an apology and £50K in compensation. Later the same year the usually toothless press regulator IPSO ruled against the JC in relation to 4 articles it had written about Corbyn’s Labour, saying it had breached the code of conduct, something it has done on numerous other occasions as well and ended up paying out costs and damages to Labour activist Audrey White, you may have seen the clip of the Liverpool lady who accosted Starmer in a café before being bundled out as shown here, this was Audrey White.
In 2020 the JC went after Labour Councillor Nadia al-Sanjari, claiming they were a member of leftist group Momentum and had launched a protest at Jewish former Labour MP Luciana Berger in terms suggestive of being antisemitic. This too blew up in their faces.
There are numerous other examples, the paper, it’s then editor Stephen Pollard, its senior reporter Lee Harpin, collectively the disreputable conduct cost them dearly and the paper basically went bust in 2020, we thought it was done for, but it was then saved by a consortium in a bit of a messy takeover. Those who saved it include current BBC board member, former head of news at the BBC, brother of a former Tory MP and also formerly Theresa May’s head of communications, Robbia Gibb. Also involved was John Ware, he of the Panorama hit piece on Jeremy Corbyn titled ‘Is Labour antisemitic?’ Which in his view of course it was, despite those admissions coming from Labour figures now that it was a scam. Also involved was John Woodcock, former Labour MP now calling himself Lord Walney after accepting a peerage from the Tories, who became their political violence tsar and has extended that role into the government of Keir Starmer.
They even chose to retain Stephen Pollard as editor following this groups little takeover. You can decide for yourself why a group of individuals such as these might have chosen to save the Chronicle, but should we really be surprised it is seemingly verging on collapse again now?
Lets fast forward here to the present though, it was worth spelling out just a bit of the Chronicle’s track record in case you weren’t familiar, but fundamentally somethings don’t change, for others, well they have.
The story now centre’s around articles written for the Chronicle by a freelancer and formerly of Israel’s IDF Elon Perry, or at least that’s the name this person wrote under, they are actually called Eli Yifrach, and they are furious we know that and it’s even more ironic that it was an Israeli news channel that revealed it. How unhappy was Perry, or Yifrach? Well he has wished the reporter in question dead! Here’s an excerpt from the Times of Israel on this:
‘A freelance writer alleged to have fabricated claims relating to the Gaza war tells a Channel 13 reporter he wishes Hamas would kill the man, after the network revealed his true identity.
Eli Yifrach, who wrote under the name Elon Perry as a freelance journalist, was fired last week from The Jewish Chronicle, and his articles were deleted from their website.
“You are a monster, a maniac, a liar. I don’t understand who created you. I wish Hamas would kill you, you are unnecessary in Israeli society,” Yifrach tells the reporter in a phone conversation.
Asked if he has any regrets, Yifrach says: “No, I have no regrets. You should be the one who is regretful. The guardians and all those who published until now, they are people like you — bloodthirsty,” he says, referencing British newspaper The Guardian, which reported on the scandal.
“So then why did they fire you?” the reporter asks.
“This is my deal with them. They needed to write what they wrote in order to satisfy you and the others,” Yifrach says.’
The stories Perry wrote were, in his words, written in order to satisfy Israel and those supporting it then? That is how I read that last line isn’t it? Is that how you would interpret it?
Perhaps in light of that it is no wonder other rats are deserting the sinking ship in which case?
The Guardian was mentioned in that diatribe of Perry’s there and one scribbler who writes for them as well as the JC who will now no longer be is one of the most high profile journalists who targeted Corbyn relentlessly over allegations of antisemitism Jonathan Freedland, a guy who once wrote an article in the Guardian entitled ‘Many Jews want Boris Johnson out. But how can we vote for Corbyn?’
In light of this business with Perry, he has written a letter to the JC saying he’s done with it, for now, the only point of interest he made in my view however was a paragraph saying:
‘The problem in this case is that there can be no real accountability because the JC is owned by a person or people who refuse to reveal themselves. As you know, I and others have long urged transparency, making that case to you privately – but nothing has happened.’
Yep. We at this time do not know who owns the JC, or who funds it.
I had a look at Companies House, fascinating they haven’t filed any accounts since February 2023 as well I thought for Jewish Chronicle Limited. But there is also Jewish Chronicle Media Limited, which formerly included Robbie Gibb as a director, but now has a certain Lord Ian Austin as a director appointed just last month, another Corbyn antisemitism bashing former Labour in name only MP who took a peerage from the Tories, who also launched an anti Corbyn campaign group called Mainstream with Lord Walney. So it all goes around and comes around and with such appalling people, accusations of antisemitism, no transparency, no due diligence, pro Israel, anti Corbyn who of course is well known for his work on pro Palestine rights, all centred around on newspaper to voice their rancid dishonesty and again, the paper is caught out for it and again now, faces condemning to the dustbin of history. It won’t be missed if this is finally it and I think it could be. It was used as a vehicle to take down Corbyn, to aid those working towards that end, and that battle has been won, the Labour right now gloat about it. Do they need the JC anymore in which case?
With people like Robbie Gibb involved at the JC, at least for a time, it is little wonder we criticise the BBC so much in which case, as he very much remains on the BBC board there. The BBC bias towards Israel has seen it come in for severe condemnation as well, and just like the JC has on multiple occasions, the BBC has just been caught red handed with no room to squirm out of it.
