A Psychological Study of B-minor. // Buffy Sainte-Marie was an influential 60's folk singer and and Native American rights activist. I was discovered here in 2024 that she had liked her entire life about being a Cree Indian from Canada. She was actually Italian/English from outside Boston. The short film is the story of Baby-Lazarus, Buffy's biggest fan, who discovers his hero was a lie and goes on a visionary quest up the river from his cabin on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Deep in the mountainous forrest in encounters the Apache Christ in a giant stone cathedral. Shot on the Apache Reservation, the film uses Frank Montoya's "Theory of Pitch Psychology" to expose Buffy's intentions via her choice of key in the given songs.

Dedicated to Johan Sebastian Bach's "Mass in B-minor," THE LIE THAT WAS NEVER TOLD is Frank Montoya's first fore from music videos to film.
