The new Arkansas ren faire was impressive for being a first-year event! The Arkansas Ren Faire at Dragonstone Springs was an epic beginning to Eldencrest’s initial LARP adventure. The excitement started early as we gathered at the parking lot in Mountain Home for the two-hour trek to this magical realm. Viking weekend was in full swing, and from the moment we stepped through the gates, it was clear that the people of Eldencrest were ready to write their stories not in words, but in actions.

At the fair, the immersive world unfolded with a fascinating monetary system—yes, real realm currency! We exchanged some fiat dollars for stunning coins, a tangible reminder of our quest. A little rain didn’t stop us either—whether we were watching the battle-hardened Vikings prepare for war or enjoying tea with the queen, there was no shortage of excitement.

The site was still new, but the potential was clear. Muddy roads? Just part of the adventure. Meeting friends from Norhaven, reconnecting with fellow travelers, and even scoring a free chain mail sample, made it a day of endless encounters.

Even with the rain, spirits stayed high. Knights took the field, swords clashed, and our group roared with excitement. There’s something special about watching a joust in the rain. The Renaissance Festival may have just begun, but we’ll definitely be returning to see how it grows!
