The death toll from Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam has reached 233, with rescue workers recovering more bodies amid ongoing landslides and flash floods.

Although floodwaters in Hanoi are receding, many areas remain submerged, and 103 individuals are still reported missing.

Typhoon Yagi, the strongest to hit Vietnam in decades, caused significant damage, particularly in the northern province of Lao Cai, where an entire hamlet was swept away.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the affected areas, promising continued search efforts for the missing.

The typhoon’s impact extended to neighboring countries, with fatalities reported in Thailand and Myanmar due to flooding, ABC News has reported.
