This Week’s Lesson

We are in Lesson-08 in the series “Rebuilding on the Solid Rock” from the book of Ezra.

This is Volume I of our series: “After the Exile” a study of Ezra-Nehemiah-Esther.

The lesson is titled “Rebuilding Revival – Part II” and our focus passage is Ezra 6.

Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

In our previous episode, we began our study of Ezra 5-6, Rebuilding Revival.

We focused on Ezra 5. The LORD used the prophets Haggai and Zechariah to stir the Jewish exiles to resume and complete the Temple rebuilding project.

The project had been stopped for 15-16 years. Immediately after the work started, Persian government officials came to the Jewish exiles to inquire about their authorization to rebuild.

They also took down the names of those in leadership of the effort. Their intent was to send a report to King Darius and ask for his decision regarding the project.

The Jewish exiles encouraged by the prophetic word, answered honestly and respectfully. The government officials led by Tattenai the governor send their report to the king.

In today’s lesson we will conclude our study of Ezra 5-6. We will focus on Ezra 6.

We will see what Darius has to say in response to the report and request from his officials.

Let’s get started.
