This only highlights the great importance of taking passages/verses of the Bible in context and with the understanding of the Scriptures as a unified whole. It is dangerous to only pick out certain verses and make whole theologies out of them--that is where cults and heresies begin. The truth must be in balance. Right after John 3:16, it says this: If your deeds are evil, then you hate the light (3:20)...in other words, you are not a Christian if you are continually living in sin and worldliness.
