"A lot of what I do makes fun of people who fall prey to conventional wisdom," economist and bestselling author Steven D. Levitt told an audience at DePauw University. In a Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture, the author of the new book, 'SuperFreakonomics: Global Cooling, Patriotic Prostitutes, and Why Suicide Bombers Should Buy Life Insurance', declared, "I think often the conventional wisdom is wrong. And when you think about it, you know that."

About 900 people gathered in the Green Center for the Performing Arts' Kresge Auditorium to hear from Levitt, whose first book with collaborator Stephen J. Dubner, Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything', spent more than 2 years on the bestseller lists and sold more than 4 million copies in 35 languages.
