Teen shot multiple times in east Las Vegas dies; no arrests

A teenage boy who was shot multiple times in the east Las Vegas valley has died, according to police.

It happened on Monday shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of Kepler Drive near Carey Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.When officers arrived they found the teen shot in an upstairs apartment.

On Monday night at a news briefing, police told 8 News Now the details were very preliminary and limited.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Homicide Detective Lt. Jason Johansson, before the shooting, the teen who was shot inside the apartment was “hanging out” with several other juveniles. Moments later someone in the apartment heard a gunshot and then the male who had been shot came out of a room.Police told 8 News Now the teen who had been shot was later pronounced dead at a hospital and that no arrests had been made in the case.

No details on a suspect description or a motive were released by police on Monday night.

“Was this a result of an altercation? We are still trying to get all those facts,” Lt. Johansson said.
