Starmer's MPs Crack Under Pressure And Confess To Robbing Pensioners

It’s astonishing how those in positions of power often have their own secrets. Rachel Reeves, the MP responsible for cutting the winter fuel allowance for pensioners, is now in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Recently, it was revealed that while she was cutting benefits for pensioners, she was claiming thousands of pounds to cover her own energy bills.

Over the past five years, Reeves claimed £3,700 for her energy costs while earning a salary of £911,346.

To put this in perspective, the amount she claimed is more than double what a pensioner would have received in fuel assistance over the same period. In total, she has claimed £4,400, and now people are demanding she pay it back.

According to the Telegraph, Labour MPs have claimed over £425,000 in taxpayer money to heat their second homes in the past five years. This is significantly more than most families would spend on heating.

In fact, this total is £83,000 more than what regular households would have spent on heating during that time. Members of Parliament can claim accommodation expenses, but only if they rent their homes.

The cap is £29,201 in total, covering both rent and heating bills. Yet just yesterday, Labour MPs voted to cut £300 from the benefits of pensioners earning as little as £11,343, all while keeping their own expenses covered.
