On December 9, 2022 in Florida, deputies responded to reports of multiple subjects walking in traffic and soliciting money. The individuals were wearing hats and neon yellow vests. They were holding signs with a picture of a young female that said "FUNERAL 20-YEARS-OLD DIED - IN - AN (sic) - CAR ACCIDENT - PLEASE ANY - HELP - MARIA GOD BLESS." Upon arrival, deputies gathered the subjects who advised them that they were raising money for a family member who had died in a car accident three days earlier. However, this was soon proven to be a lie as the deputies searched the individuals' names and found a report from September 10, 2022 where the same individuals had been collecting money for a funeral using the same photo and story. This is body cam footage of the events that followed.

The footage is for educational purposes only. All information has been supplied by local law enforcement agencies and is considered by law to be public information.
