This Easy Bread Gulab Jamun recipe is a simple and delicious take on the traditional South Asian dessert. Made with just 6 simple ingredients and requiring less effort than the usual recipe, these gulab jamuns have all the same flavors and textures as the original version. Using bread as the main ingredient, these sweet and soft treats are perfect for satisfying your cravings for something indulgent and comforting.

Ingredients:
For the Bread Dough:
• 6 slices of white bread
• little less than 1/2 cup milk (adjust as needed)
• 1/8 cup milk powder

For the sugar syrup:
• 1 and 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 cups water
• 2 cardamoms

Instructions:
1. Prepare the Sugar Syrup:
• In a pan, combine sugar, cardamoms and water.
• Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
• Let the syrup simmer for 5-6 minutes until it thickens slightly. The consistency should be sticky but not too thick.

2. Prepare the Bread Dough:
• Trim the sides of the bread slices.
• Tear the bread slices into small pieces and blend them in a food processor to make fine crumbs.
• Transfer the bread crumbs to a bowl, add milk powder and mix well.
• Gradually add milk, a little at a time, and knead to form a soft, smooth dough. The dough should not be too sticky or too dry.

3. Shape the Jamuns:
• Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into smooth balls.

4. Fry the Gulab Jamuns:
• Heat oil in a wok over medium heat.
• Fry the dough balls in batches, turning them frequently for even browning. Fry until they are golden brown.
• Once fried, remove the jamuns from the oil and drain on paper towels.
• Drop the fried gulab jamuns into the hot sugar syrup, stir them well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
• Turn off the heat, cover the pan with a lid and let them soak in the sugar syrup for at least 3-4 hours or overnight.
• Garnish with chopped nuts like pistachios or almonds.
