Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov checked the training of the Bars-Kursk volunteers

Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Colonel General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov checked the progress of the formation of the volunteer detachment "Bars-Kursk" during a trip to the troops of the Moscow Military District.

The Deputy Minister of Defense also checked the training of contract servicemen at the training ground. As the Deputy Minister of Defense noted, the invasion of armed Ukrainian formations into the territory of the Kursk region, the constant shelling by the Kiev regime of the territories bordering Ukraine of the Russian Federation provoked a significant resonance in Russian society. As a result, the number of citizens who have expressed a desire to defend their homeland and sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is growing throughout the country.

"We are creating Bars detachments in all three border regions (Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk), we called them Bars-Kursk, and Bars-Belgorod and Bars-Bryansk," Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said.

"The main task of these detachments is to assist the operational headquarters of the governor and the KTO to solve the problems that are currently arising, including with and without weapons. These are issues related to the evacuation of the population, assistance in firefighting, if with weapons, then this is the protection of important communications, life-support facilities. The training itself, what I have just seen, it, in principle, requires improvement, taking into account the fact that a lot of time is devoted to shooting, and there should be other things, including specific ones. To do this, some educational facilities need to be completed," Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said.

As specified by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the units that are formed as part of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, also together with law enforcement agencies in the conditions of the counter-terrorism operation regime, will perform tasks for the protection and defense of civilian infrastructure, the fight against UAVs and the maintenance of public law and order. Currently, intensive training and training of personnel of volunteer detachments is underway.

Also, the deputy head of the military department held a meeting with the acting governor of the Kursk region Alexei Smirnov. During the meeting, they discussed the comprehensive provision and training of the detachment's volunteers and signed an agreement between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the regional administration on cooperation in the order of its recruitment, provision and application. At the end of the meeting, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov presented departmental awards to the heads of the border municipalities of the Kursk region. "We are glad that there is an active movement for liberation. All regional assistance is provided and will be provided. The tasks of creating the "Bars" squads are being solved. There are quite a large number of people who want to protect their home, help the Rosgvardiya, the police," Smirnov said.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Defense visited Bryansk, where he also checked the progress of the training of volunteers of the Bars-Bryansk unit. As reported in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on August 15, by order of Minister Andrei Belousov, the department established a Coordinating Council on military security of the border territories — Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions. Its goal is to increase the effectiveness of comprehensive support for groups of troops solving the tasks of covering the state border, protecting the territory and the population of the regions.
