Boeing's Starliner spacecraft recently completed an uncrewed return to Earth after undocking from the International Space Station (ISS). Initially designed to ferry astronauts, this return mission was conducted without crew due to unresolved safety concerns. The capsule landed successfully at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico using parachutes and airbags. NASA officials confirmed the landing went smoothly, noting that if astronauts had been aboard, they would have landed safely.

Despite the success of the landing, Starliner’s future remains uncertain. Technical issues, such as thruster problems experienced in previous flights, continue to hinder its certification for manned missions. NASA and Boeing will now review the data from this mission to determine the next steps, with the first crewed Starliner flight likely delayed to 2025.
