- Authorities continue to investigate an incident that resulted in one vehicle being struck by a bullet near exit 59 where KY-15 meets the Hal Rogers Parkway.

Originally the driver of the vehicle believed a rock hit their vehicle, however, when they arrived home they found a round in the bottom of their windshield. The window did not shatter from the bullet.

The individual then called the Perry County Sheriff’s Office who directed the call to Hazard City Manager Tony Eversole.

The vehicle was taken to Hazard Police who will continue to investigate.

After the report, authorities contacted school districts to lockdown schools near the incident. Students were eventually released from lockdown and buses received a police escort.
