Overnight on Lindisfarne The Holy Island of Northumberland 🇬🇧

Lindisfarne, also called Holy Island (earliest name is Ynys Medcaut in Celtic - what is now the Welsh Language, as the Ango Saxons invaded from the east it drove the original Britons west, into Wales who some still speak a version of the original British Language), is a tidal island off the northeast coast of England, which constitutes the civil parish of Holy Island in Northumberland

Aidan, the first Bishop of Lindisfarne, an Irish-Celtic monk from the Scottish isle of Iona, travelled widely throughout Northumbria and with the help of King Oswald as interpreter, began the conversion of the pagan Northumbrians to Christianity.

I stayed at the Lindisfarne Hotel
