Wipers, White Bass & a Cat 9/9/2024

September 10, 2024 at the Johnson Lake Inlet in Nebraska.

Water was slow once again, haven’t had rain for a few weeks now. A lot of bait fish with very few fish chasing them. Ten years ago there were more baitfish and the white bass were everywhere.

Either they have been over-fished or something else is going on.

Also not catching as many small wipers. We haven’t caught a wiper under 15 for a very long time. Used to be able to catch at least 10 a day, so they must not be stocking them anymore or at least for the past couple years.

Fishing is nothing like it used to be at the inlet.
