Gerhard Adametz

Gerhard Adametz was likely a fictional character created by the Allies to support the narrative of German atrocity during WWII. Whilst it may be true that he is a minor character in the overall story of the Holocaust he remains an important one. This is because this story shows the lengths the victors went to constructed atrocity stories thereby codifying the idea of German barbarity as absolute. Yet, as with many, though not all, this story was likely the result of torture in the best of situations and an outright lie in the worst.
