Flash flood hits Vietnam, storm toll rises to 155 dead

A flash flood triggered by Typhoon Yagi swept away Lang Nu hamlet in northern Vietnam, killing 30 people and leaving about 65 missing.

The disaster, caused by water gushing down from a mountain in Lao Cai province, buried the hamlet in mud and debris, with only about a dozen survivors.

The overall death toll from the typhoon and its aftermath has reached 155, with 141 people still missing, the Associated Press has reported.
