Many people do not hear how they actual talk to or about Autistic people, especially right in front of an Autistic individual. Many people assume just because an Autistic child or adult does not communicate in Neurotypical fashion that the Autistic person does not hear or understand what is being said about them. This is entirely false. Autistic people hear everything just like Neurotypical people do. The main difference is, sometimes an Autistic person does not have the skill sets or physical abilities to communicate back due to the intensely hyper active nervous system. What loved ones of Autistic people say about an Autistic individual or to them is absolutely heard to the deepest levels of what it means to be human. However, often times Neurotypical people are more concerned about the perception of other Neurotypical people that the cost of shame and blame is placed on the Autistic individual who is trying to understand, communicate, and live in a world full of Neurotypical people too.

Please loved ones of Autistic people, be careful what you say to the Autistic individual in your life or about each Autistic individual. An Autistic hears everything you say, even if an Autistic cannot express it back to you in a way that you understand. In time, that Autistic person may just surprise you with how much that Autistic person does truly understand. May God bless you and keep you to heal whatever pain you maybe going through.
