Nurse Lucy Letby's new lawyer Speaks Out.

This interview was conducted before Criminal Barrister Mark McDonald was assigned on this particular case.

Let the record reflect that Nurse Lucy Letby's scrawled notes, internet searches for families of the deceased etc. are the actions of someone who is breaking down under the emotional pressure and psychological trauma which may or may not manifest in a type of guilt complex unrelated to any perceived action of criminal behaviour.
The trial would try to determine if she is innocent or guilty?
Surely, the question that really should to be asked is, did she get a fair trial and did the evidence (including statistical*) provided in court prove beyond any reasonable doubt that she was guilty?
With careful consideration, I would say the answer is no to both of these questions.
The media assumed and presented a rapid verdict of guilt from the outset and throughout the entire trial itself- In the UK the legal process does not need to prove a person's Innocence, the court needs to prove if they are guilty - for some reason this was ignored.

There have been many references to an article published in the New Yorker about the trial which has not been made available to the public.

Many experts, investigative journalists and even a politician are now asking fundamental questions about this trial and possible failures within the legal system itself that should have been asked at the time of reporting on this trial.
