‘I AM NOT A CRIMINAL’ - HAITI’S JIMMY ‘BARBECUE’ CHÉRIZIER

Former Haitian police officer Jimmy Chérizier, popularly known as 'Barbecue,' has become the face of the Caribbean state's so-called gang violence, thanks to international media plastering him on their front pages. The 47-year-old faces accusations of human rights violations, including k*llings and r*pe.

In this clip from an exclusive interview that independent journalist Maud-Salomé Ekila (@ekilaaa on IG and X) conducted for African Stream, Chérizier responded to the allegations.
