Elon Musk: It's Been 40 Years Since There Was a Serious Effort to Reduce the Size of the Government

He says the government has so many laws and regulations that if we continue at this rate then “eventually everything's illegal.”

A perfect example of this is the time that Elon Musk’s SpaceX was fined $140,000 for cooling a launch pad with drinking water.

Yes, really.

Although the EPA agreed there was no real damage, they still fined SpaceX because they didn't have a permit to dump drinking water.

Musk called this absurd, given the site is in an area that gets heavy rain regularly. The EPA even threatened to delay future SpaceX launches unless they paid the $140,000 fine for an incident that caused no actual harm.
