MEGHAN Markle spoke at close friend Oprah Winfrey's book club last night - with Prince Harry's memoir proudly on display.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was one of several speakers at the event at Godmothers bookstore, in Summerland, California.

Prince Harry's memoir Spare was displayed on the 'hometowns heroes' shelf at the glitzy bash, which celebrated the store's opening this weekend.

Meghan's appearance landed on the eve of the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death.

It is not known exactly what the duchess said in her speech but fellow celebrity guests appeared to hail her address.

Bookstore co-owner, and literary agent, Jennifer Rudolph Walsh said of the collection: "This is our local authors shelf when you first walk in.

"I want it to be when you first walk in so that authors who are local to the area know that this is their hometown bookstore.

"And we celebrate our hometown authors as if they were our hometown heroes, because to us they are."

Meghan and Oprah have been close pals for several years, and the famous talk show host was a guest at the Sussexes' wedding in 2018.

The friendship appears to have solidified since Harry and Meghan moved to their Montecito mansion in 2020.
