Gov. Walz’s Orders During George Floyd Riots: Paintball Rounds, Prison Time, and COVID-19 Hotlines

During the George Floyd riots in Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz authorized the use of paintball rounds by police and the National Guard against residents who violated curfew in residential areas. Additionally, Lisa Hanson, a former small business owner, was sentenced to 90 days in prison for defying Gov. Walz's COVID-19 lockdown order. The governor also established a hotline encouraging citizens to report those violating the lockdown mandates.
