Genesis 11 ends the first major section of Genesis and transitions to the story of Abraham. We learn about the culture that Abraham would have been raised in and see how God called him out of it to follow Him and become the father of a new nation. Abraham overcame a delay that could have stopped him, but he continued on in obedience to God. Out of a pagan culture, God called a people for His own and promised to build them into a great nation.
