Why is it that the name Jacob is used even after God said he shall no longer be called Jacob?
Yet when God said Abram shall no longer be called Abram - sure enough, from that point on he wasn't called Abram, but Abraham. But not so with Jacob. Why?
Is there a pattern in the usage of "Jacob"?
Is there a pattern in the usage of "Israel"?
Could it be that "Jacob" is used when referring the the carnal man? And "Israel" is used when referring the the spiritual man?
