Handmade Custom Copperhead Guitar Strap

One evening my oldest daughter spotted a Copperhead snake near our house. At that time, we had 2 dogs, 40 something chickens, and 3 kids. For our safety I could not allow it to stick around. I do not believe in needless killing. So, I decided to tan the hide, and make a guitar strap out of it. I always see Rattlesnake guitar straps, but I have never seen one made from a Copperhead. I was fortunate, this one was big. The average size you find are not generally big enough to make a guitar strap. To age and patina the copper hardware for the strap I boiled and smashed a few eggs in a bowl then put the copper hardware in it for around an hour or so. The sulfur gas from the eggs gave a beautiful patina to the copper buckle to match the strap for the guitar he calls Picasso.
