Most Expensive & Scenic Train in Switzerland! ❄️

The most scenic train journey I’ve been on! ❄️🇨🇭

I went on the first-class Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz (in February) and it was one of the most scenic train journeys I have ever experienced, and not just in Switzerland. 😍 It’s an almost 8 hour long train ride between St. Moritz and Zermatt and is known to be Switzerland’s most luxurious and expensive train rides. You get panoramic views of the Swiss Alps and during winter time, it’s just like a winter wonderland with all the snow! 🏔❤️

It has three different classes: Excellence, first, and the second class and the prices vary depending on which class you’re in, the season, and whether you’re doing the whole journey or only a part of it.

Here are the prices (approx since the currency exchange keeps changing):
Second class: Rs. 15,000
First-class: Rs. 25,000
Excellence class: Rs. 52,000
Yup, it’s quite expensive! 😅🤑

However, the first and second classes are included in the Eurail pass (you just need to pay 40 franks extra to reserve your seat) so that’s what I did since I had a @eurail pass anyway for all my train rides! So this works out to be more cost-effective if you’re planning a lot of train rides on your trip to Europe.

They also serve food (at an extra cost for first and second class), but you can also carry your own (which is what I did 😋).
