SYNOPSIS
"Doomed to Die" is a 1940 mystery crime film directed by William Nigh. This film is another installment in the Mr. Wong series, featuring Boris Karloff as the astute Chinese-American detective, James Lee Wong. The plot centers around the murder of a shipping magnate, whose death occurs shortly after a tragic fire sinks one of his ships. The victim's daughter and her fiancé, who are wrongfully accused, seek Mr. Wong's help. As Wong delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a complex plot involving rivalry, hidden identities, and a valuable shipment of gold, leading to an unexpected twist.
