Why Are Most African Americans So Stupid Inconvenient Truth About Democratic Party
I'm So Embarrassed By How Stupid Black American People Are Today... Did You Know That The Democratic Party Defended Slavery, Started The Civil War, Founded The KKK, And Fought Against Every Major Civil Rights Act In U.S. History? Watch as Carol Swain, professor of political science at Vanderbilt University, shares the inconvenient history of the Democratic Party.
Since the end of World War II, African-Americans have traditionally supported the Democratic Party, with most commentators pointing to the party’s liberal record on civil rights and race as the likely explanation. Maruice Mangum takes a close look at African-Americans’ identification with the Democratic Party, finding that their perception of the party’s competence is very important. He argues that African-Americans perceive the Democratic Party to be competent in issues such as preserving welfare and citizens’ fiscal health as well as race relations, to a higher degree than the Republican Party, hence their greater support.
Party identification is a psychological attachment toward a political party, and much attention has been given to studying the party identification of whites. In comparison, very little attention has been given to understanding African-Americans’ party identification and partisanship. Additionally, research that focuses on the party identification of African-Americans often paints a simplified picture of African-Americans. In recent research I examined the relationship between African-Americans’ perceptions of the abilities of the two major political parties to handle key issues and their likelihood to identify themselves with either party.
I find that that African-Americans are sophisticated because they identify themselves with a party based in part on their perceptions of party competence on certain issues. I examined the relationship between African-American’s opinions regarding the ability of the parties to handle the issues that are important to them most effectively and their party identification.
Modeling African-American Party Identification
Some citizens may believe one party is more capable than another, depending on the issue or issues in question. If the issue or issues are thought to be handled better by one party over another, then the perceived difference in party competence could be important. People will identify themselves with the political party they believe to be effective in dealing with the issues. It matters little whether respondents are correct in their perceptions. These perceptions are opinions and it does not matter if they are true or not, as they help people make sense of the world around them. People do not act and have beliefs based solely on facts; they are guided by their interpretation of facts or perception as well as emotion. Inasmuch as perceptions help people determine which political party reflects competence, they may guide their psychological attachment to a political party. Perceptions of the Democratic Party’s ability to handle issues and policies might explain African-American affinity toward the Democratic Party and why so few African-Americans identify themselves as Republicans.
The importance of certain issues, or issue salience, might suggest why certain policy issues matter more than others and have a disproportionate amount of influence in explaining African-Americans’ party identification. It may be the case that awareness of party differences on race leads to awareness of the differences between the parties on other issues and policy domains. Those areas of greater interest to African-Americans are expected to have more influence. For instance, where the parties stand on the issues of race, welfare, and poverty might correlate more readily with party identification than handling the budget deficit and foreign affairs. Health care, the Nation’s economic health, Social Security, and raising taxes might fall somewhere in the middle of the list of concerns.
In order to estimate the party identification and partisanship of African-Americans, I tested the effects of perceptions of party competence. Using data from the 1996 National Black Election Study, I regressed three dependent variables (African-Americans’ party identification and feeling thermometers for Democrats and Republicans) on party competence evaluations.
I found that African-Americans, who stated that the Democratic Party would do better at handling the issues important to them, identified themselves with the Democratic Party. African-Americans who thought that the Republican Party would do better at addressing the issues selected the Republican Party. Further, party competence evaluations shaped partisanship more than party identification. This points to the likelihood that a combination of perceptions about what is good for African-Americans and the individual himself or herself dictate African-Americans’ party identification and partisanship. The party competence measures that had the greatest effects were those that involved race and economics; the Democratic Party was thought by African-Americans to be the party most likely to preserve the fiscal health of individual citizens. In contrast to the group-centric focus presented in the literature, individual life circumstances also determine African-Americans’ party identification and partisanship because they were associated directly with the party thought to be less likely to cut Social Security and less likely to raise taxes. African–American partisanship is also influenced by perceptions of competence at handling the nation’s economy, foreign affairs and healthcare. African-Americans like the Democratic Party for being competent and dislike the Republican Party for not being competent on these issues.
These findings suggest that African-Americans are more complex in their decision making than what is discussed in the literature. The decision made by many African-Americans to identify themselves with the Democratic Party is not based simply on race and ideology. Nor are their evaluations of party competence based simply on affinity for the party. If African-Americans evaluated the Democratic Party as more competent than the Republican Party simply based on affinity, then the ratings for the Democratic Party would be much higher than they are and consistently high. Also, the advantage the Democratic Party has over the Republican Party on these items would be starker on all issues and policy areas. This seems to suggest that there is very little projection on the part of many African-Americans.
What do these findings suggest in terms of an African–American dealignment or realignment? They seem to suggest that there is potential for African-Americans to dealing or even realign themselves back with the Republican Party. Areas where African-Americans were more likely to see that the Democratic Party was not as competent as other areas are: handling foreign affairs, the budget deficit and the nation’s economy. These are policy areas where the Republican Party is typically considered competent by most citizens. As they become more important, it is possible; perhaps not very likely, that African Americans might leave the Democratic Party or align with the Republican Party. The Republican Party needs to capitalize on these competencies by emphasizing their importance and by demonstrating how their policies are beneficial to African Americans. Republicans will do themselves well if they focus their campaigns on dealing with economic issues and emphasizing less the social and cultural wars they have been waging in recent decades.
With increasing discontent and disappointment with President Obama, some African-Americans might believe the Democratic Party is not as competent in certain policy areas. Therefore, this fosters the belief that the Republican Party is better at handling foreign affairs, the budget deficit and the national economy. While the Republicans in the U.S. Congress have not been cooperating with President Obama, African–American support is not theirs to lose. Republicans can only gain African–American support when Democrats are perceived as ineffective. This does not necessarily mean that African-Americans will become identifiers of the Republican Party, but it may mean that they will identify themselves less with the Democratic Party. To thwart this possibility, it behooves the Democratic Party to be more liberal on economic policies than it has been of late to retain the support of African-Americans.

The looting is most likely being planned in conjunction with the protests. The chaos just makes it more difficult to get caught. While other states have said most of their looters are out-of-towners this is the opposite for southern California. The data is still fresh, but most of the looters in LA county have been locals, students, unemployed, laborers. Which likely translates to low income and young people. These ‘protests’ are going through shopping districts, including high end places like Santa Monica, Hollywood, Beverly Hills. There is video of looters literally walking around with toaster ovens, bedding, surfboards, in hand like they just went shopping. Some are so organized they are coming in with duffle bags and clearing cash registers. My suspicion is that these people have shoplifted before, and when your friends are doing it you’re likely to join in too. The U.S. also being a consumer society doesn’t make the temptation for material things any easier.

Lol maybe its because you pee on yourself last night and this why + American's Our Smartest People In The World Today... WoW
American's Our Smartest People In The World Be Honest. As an Observer of American Society, the thought may have crossed your mind at one time or another at least for a fleeting moment or two that the nation's dysfunctional state of affairs is the result of widespread stupidity. The people, too often misinformed and poorly educated, are getting exactly the democracy they deserve. Perhaps that thought arose last week as you watched the cringe-worthy presidential debate, which pundits have called "a disgrace" and "an embarrassment for the ages." Our public discourse has been in decline for so long that it was bound to come to this, right?
Rep. Maxine Waters called on her supporters to publicly confront and harass members of the administration in response to the “zero tolerance” policy that led to the separation of families at the border.
“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents,” Waters said at the Wilshire Federal Building, according to video of the event.
Because rioting achieves nothing.
The people participating are mostly aware of that. There are participants who are legitimately enraged by police brutality and feel that this public display is the only way to bring any attention to their situation, but the reality is that all riots serve to do is make the rioters look like uneducated savages who do not know how to conduct themselves in the public forum, regardless of how legitimate the original cause was.
The vast majority of those involved, particularly young rioters- at least in my belief, based on their recorded actions- are not trying to affect any form of political change. They are they because they want to break some windows for fun. It’s out of the ordinary, a chance to act a bit crazy, and basically quite exciting. Not that I’m approving of it, or saying I would be joining in, but you’re lying to yourself if you think that there isn’t a sort of abandoned fun in going around and mindlessly destroying things. Mob mentality takes over, and you don’t necessarily see any victims at the time; everyone is joining in, so why not just put that window through?
The same people are there to get a free TV. It’s the same sort of sense of careless abandon, and the chance to go wild. If asked, you bet your ass they will tell you just how evil the system and their police enforcers are, in between destroying the private property of others- innocent others, who had no hand in the killing of George Floyd- and scoring some “free” stuff for their apartment.

America does indeed have a problem in the smarts department and it appears to be getting worse, not better.
On Tuesday, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released the results of a two-year study in which thousands of adults in 23 countries were tested for their skills in literacy, basic math and technology. The US fared badly in all three fields, ranking somewhere in the middle for literacy but way down at the bottom for technology and math.
This shouldn't be all that surprising as there is a well documented pattern of American school kids failing to keep up with their tiger cub counterparts in other countries. But these results are the first concrete proof that this skill gap is extending well beyond school and into adulthood. The question is, do the study's results imply, as the New York Post so delicately put it, that "US adults are dumber than your average human"? Hardly, but it does suggest that many Americans may not be putting the smarts they have to good use, or, more likely, that they are not getting the opportunity to do so. Put another way: it's inequality, stupid.
Just a quick scan of the countries that fared really well in all three categories (Norway, Sweden, Japan, Finland and the Netherlands) compared to the countries that fared really badly (America and Britain) gives a pretty good indication that the inequality that is rampant in the (allegedly) dumber nations might have something to do with their pitifully low scores. A closer look at the results is also revealing. The incomes of Americans who scored the highest on literacy tests are on average 60% higher than the incomes of Americans with the lowest literacy scores, who were also twice as likely to be unemployed. So broadly speaking, the better off the American, the better they did on the tests.
Now this is just a wild guess, but could this possibly have something to do with the fact that the kind of schools a poor American kid will have access to are likely to be significantly inferior to the kinds of schools wealthier kids get to attend? Or that because of this, a poor kid's chances of getting into a good university, even if she could manage to pay for it, are also severely compromised? And let me go one step further and suggest that the apparent acceleration of America's dumbing down might be directly connected with the country's rising poverty rates.
Before I go on, I should say that even I can see some holes in the above theory. You only have to look at certain members of congress ( Read: who forced the government to shutdown last week), for instance, many of whom attended some of the finest universities (and make bucket loads of money), to see that even an Ivy League education may be of little use to a person who is simply prone to stupidity. I should add also that many people believe that it's the large immigrant population (of which I'm a member) who are responsible for bringing down the nation's IQ, which further complicates the dumb American narrative. Indeed one could argue all day about the reasons Americans are falling behind, (Woody Allen blames fast food), but we should at least be able to agree on the remedies.
Here's the thing, most economists agree that in this technology driven age, a highly skilled workforce is key to any real economic recovery. It doesn't bode well for the future then that so many American students, particularly low-income and minority students, are graduating high school without basic reading or math skills. Nor does it inspire confidence that students who leave school without basic skills are not acquiring them as adults. So America's alleged dumbness has a lot to do with inadequate schooling for (poor) children and teenagers and a dearth of continuing education opportunities for low-income adults. By contrast, the OECD study found that in (more equal) countries that fared better in the tests, like Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands, more than 60% of the adult population have engaged in continuing education programs or on the job training.
The smart thing to do then surely would be to pour resources into early and continuing education opportunities so that American adults will be equipped with the necessary skills to compete in the global economy. This is where the dumb argument really gets a boost, however, because the opposite is happening. Those same congressional geniuses I alluded to earlier are also responsible for forcing through the cuts known as sequestration, which among other things cut 5% from the federal education budget. Because federal education funding is doled out according to the number of low-income students in a given school, it is poor children, the ones who most need the help, who are being disproportionately impacted by the cuts. Furthermore since 2010, almost $65m, over one-tenth of the entire budget, has been cut from adult education grants.
So are Americans dumb? The answer appears to be yes, some are. The dumb ones are not the poor minorities or low skilled adults who fared badly on the OECD tests, however, but a certain privileged and selfish elite, who have suffered from no want of opportunities themselves, yet seem to think that denying millions of struggling Americans an equal (or indeed any) opportunity to get ahead is a sensible way forward. The results are in now and clearly it isn't. The question is will enough Americans be smart enough to do something about it?

Myth 1: “Black-on-Black Crime”
The racist myth of so-called “Black-on-Black crime,” suggests that there is a rampant crime problem within Black communities. It perpetuates the myth that interracial violence is specific to the Black community and that Black people are inherently violent—a myth that has been used to justify the mistreatment of Black people in the United States for centuries.
The suggestion that Black people are predisposed to violence dates as far back as 1896 when it was included in the first nationwide report on racial crime data. That report did not go unnoticed or unchallenged, as Jameelah Nasheed points out in this column: “[In response to that report, W.E.B.] Du Bois made two points that we’re still grappling with more than 120 years later: the different ways in which Black and white Americans are treated by our justice system, and the relationship between crime and the threat of poverty due to systemic racism.”
Data shows a clear connection between poverty and violent crime. And in the United States, poverty is inextricably linked to anti-Black racism and white supremacy. Because of centuries of racist policymaking and disinvestment, more Black people than white people live in poverty in the United States, but research has shown that Black and white people in poverty commit crimes at the same rate. In general, white people commit crimes against other white people at about the same rate as Black people do against other Black people. Despite the facts, no one ever decries the “white-on-white crime” problem.
The Black-on-Black crime myth is not just inaccurate, it is harmful. Beyond perpetuating anti-Black racism, it is used as a tool to dismiss or distract from calls for justice from the Black community. It is especially common in the aftermath of police shootings of Black people and in response to the rallying cry that Black lives matter. In this context, the myth serves to not only discredit the calls for justice and shift blame to the Black community, but also, at its worst, to justify police violence. As Jameelah Nasheed writes, “To call the fallacy of Black-on-Black crime anything other than anti-Black racism is an injustice in itself.” Read her full column on the Black on Black crime myth here.
Myth 2: Guns Make you Safer
The gun lobby claims that having a gun will make you safer. This myth isn’t unique to the Black community, but in recent years it has been used by militia and other gun groups to specifically target Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. These groups suggest that Black people must be armed to protect themselves because they can’t trust law enforcement and/or because they must be ready to defend themselves against racially-motivated violence. But the truth is, having a firearm actually increases an individual’s risk of injury or death. Defensive gun use is rare when compared with harmful gun use. It is far more likely that a firearm will be used in a suicide or unintentional shooting or that it will be stolen than that it will be effectively used for self defense. If more guns meant more safety, the United States would be the safest place in the world.
The good news is we know what works to prevent gun violence. For decades, Black leaders, community members, and local officials have been driving effective solutions to gun violence like violence interruption programs that engage people with lived experience to mediate conflicts and mentor young people who are most likely to be victims of perpetrators of gun violence. These programs need data and sustained funding to continue and expand their reach.

Claudette Colvin (born September 5, 1939) is an American nurse and was a pioneer of the Civil Rights Movement. On March 2, 1955, she was arrested at the age of 15 in Montgomery, Alabama for refusing to give up her seat to a white woman on a crowded, segregated bus. Colvin acted a few months before the more widely known incident in which Rosa Parks, secretary of the local chapter of the NAACP, played the lead role, sparking the Montgomery Bus Boycott that began that year.

Colvin was among the five plaintiffs originally included in the federal court case filed by civil rights attorney Fred Gray on February 1, 1956, as Browder v. Gayle, to challenge bus segregation in the city. She testified before the three-judge panel that heard the case in the United States District Court. On June 13, 1956, the judges determined that the state and local laws requiring bus segregation in Alabama were unconstitutional. The case went to the United States Supreme Court on appeal by the state, and it upheld the District Court ruling on December 17, 1956. Colvin was the last witness to testify. Three days later, the Supreme Court issued an order to Montgomery and the state of Alabama to end bus segregation, and the Montgomery Bus Boycott was called off.
For many years, Montgomery's black leaders did not publicize Colvin's pioneering effort. She was an unmarried teenager at the time, and was reportedly pregnant by a married man. Colvin has said, "Young people think Rosa Parks just sat down on a bus and ended segregation, but that wasn't the case at all." Her case helped pave the way.

America lags other nations in the world in a large number of areas, from infant mortality and crime rates to median income and gross domestic product per capita. The story of slavery is more complicated than you’ve been told because he who controls the flow of information controls people. Did you know that over 7,000,000 white slaves were shipped to the Middle East and North Africa between 1500 and 1900? Why has their story been culturally erased?
The Barbary pirates of North Africa attacked the coastal northern Mediterranean launching attacks against Britain, France, Italy and Sicily. In their feverish search for slaves a few pirates even went as far as the coast of Iceland, raiding inland to kidnap people and bring them back to North Africa.
From the 1512s to the 1840s it is estimated that over seven million white Europeans, to include those captured at sea as well as through land raids abroad were enslaved. Many of these were Americans captured at sea.

Lynching's took place in the United States both before and after the American Civil War, most commonly in Southern states and Western frontier settlements and most frequently in the late 19th century. They were often performed by self-appointed commissions, mobs, or vigilantes as a form of punishment for presumed criminal offences. From 1883 to 1941 there were 4,467 victims of lynching. Of these, 4,027 were male, and 99 female. 341 were of unknown gender, but are assumed to be likely male. In terms of ethnicity; 3,265 were black, 1,082 were white, 71 were Mexican or of Mexican descent, 38 were American Indian, ten were Chinese, and one was Japanese. First Black/Moorish Presidential Candidate and Later Becoming President Abraham Lincoln - https://rumble.com/v29usdu-first-blackmoorish-presidential-candidate-and-later-becoming-president-abra.html
President Abraham Lincoln Has Done More For Melaninated People Than Any Civil Rights Leader Will Ever Do - First Black/Moorish President Is Abraham Lincoln Moorish definition, of or relating to the Moors, a Muslim people of NW Africa. Moor, in English usage, a Moroccan or, formerly, a member of the Muslim population of al-Andalus, now Spain and Portugal. Of mixed Arab, Spanish, and Amazigh (Berber) origins.
Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving an official holiday on October 3rd, 1863, so he is the greatest President of all time. (And he did some other stuff like outlawing slavery and presiding over the U.S. government through a civil war.) He was also our first Black/Moorish President.
President Abraham Lincoln, the Melungeon or Tawny Moor is a dark-skinned native of a non-European land was the President of the United States. As President, he has to balance the Moorish side and the European side. This is one government with two jurisdictions; which is hard for some people to see or understand, however the one dollar bill, known today as the One Dollar Federal Note shows this clearly on the back, however you will have to know symbolism, history and the founding of this one government with two jurisdiction to understand that. The Union is older than the “recent” United States Constitution. However the recent United States Constitution is a continuation from the Union. Hence the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution stating “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union..”. This Union was made up of Moors and European sons through the Articles of Association in 1774. The Moors was the majority of that Union. Not only were Moors the majority of the Union, Moors were the ones who help to form the current United States Constitution and all the previous Constitutions.
Black Lynching Black Culture ? Real Genocide Black Race Abortions in America Sad ? - https://rumble.com/v29yrdw-black-lynching-black-culture-real-genocide-black-race-abortions-in-america-.html
Let’s talk about black-on-black violence and abortions over 500,000+ dead each year... and you are only mad about Lynching ? I Do Not Understand This ? - So Total Number is under 5,000 Lynching's took place in the United States From 1883 to 1941 there were 4,467 victims of lynching.
Genocide Black Abortions in America Abortion kills 1,000 black babies every day in America. Abortion is not just a woman’s issue. It’s a human rights issue. Abortion is the number one killer of black lives in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, abortion kills more black people than HIV, homicide, diabetes, accident, cancer, and heart disease … combined.
In 2019, black women had 38.4% of all abortions in the U.S., despite African-Americans comprising only 13.4% of the total population.
In Michigan, black women make up only about 14% of Michigan’s female population, but they had 55.6% of all abortions reported in the state in 2021.
During February, which is Black History Month, it is a good time to look upon the triumphs and tragedies in African American history. Movies like Harriet tell of heroes of the Underground Railroad and the struggle against slavery. It is good to honor those stories.
Thousands of people are killed each year in this country. When the victim and perpetrator are black people call this “black-on-black crime.” The last full year of data that is available from the FBI Uniform Crime Reports and their National Incident-Based Reporting System is 2018. According to the FBI, 15,498 people were murdered in the US in 2018, down from 16,499 in 2017. Racial data is available on only 14,123 (91.1%) of those murdered in 2018.
Of the 14,123 victims, 9,066 cases are listed as Not Hispanic or Latino; 2,173 are listed as Latino or Hispanic; 6,088 are listed as White; 7,407 as Black; 395 as other race; and 1,840 are listed as unknown race. This is problematic because it is impossible to discern how many of the victims listed as “white” are actually Hispanic/Latino. Hispanic/Latino is an ethnic group not a racial group according to the government’s definition.
Anarchy U.S.A. 1964-1984-2026 Tidbits of Suppressed Information 4 New World Order - https://rumble.com/v2brsoa-anarchy-u.s.a.-1964-1984-2026-tidbits-of-suppressed-information-4-new-world.html
Anarchy USA is a 1966 film by G. Edward Griffin (author, film maker, and conspiracy theorist ?) claiming that civil rights movements during the 1960s, in the U.S. and abroad, where communist revolutionary attempts to infiltrate and over-through capitalist democracies. Age restricted for disturbing content and gruesome depictions of dismembered bodies. You have been warned.
A remarkable examination of the forces behind the Civil Rights Movement in 1960’s America. Drawing parallels between successful communist insurrections in China, Cuba, and Algeria; “Anarchy USA” attempts to convince its audience that revolutionary communism was using the noble fight for civil rights to foment racial tension and overthrow the US government. A treasure trove of rare archival footage from America’s most traumatic period of social upheaval. Featuring Ahmed Ben Bally, Julia Brown, Charles De Gaulle, Martin Luther King.
Why do most blacks vote more Democrat than Republican when Abraham Lincoln freed them from their chains? Because this guy was a Democrat. You may have heard of him.
Lyndon Baines Johnson. An old time Southern Democrat from a really racist part of the country - Texas.
Johnson became president when President Kenney was assassinated in November 1963. Kennedy only had him on the ticket by accident. Kennedy and Johnson were bitter rivals and Kennedy only offered him a spot on the ticket thinking Johnson would turn him down. He didn’t, but he helped Kennedy win, but then Kennedy pretty much pushed him over to the sideline and Johnson was stuck doing public relations for the new space program.
But Johnson had come to the presidency from being Senate Majority Leader. He knew how to get things done and as he later recounted “I was a lot more liberal than my voting record”.
So forget about how he was the father of Medicare, Medicaid and Food Stamps for a minute. We are, after all, talking about why blacks support the Democrats where, even up until Eisenhower, they supported Republicans.
First and foremost, Johnson started a campaign to ratify the Twenty-Fourth amendment outlawing poll taxes, which had passed Congress in August 1962 but hadn’t been ratified. Two month later, it was. That removed a massive obstacle to black voting.
Building off the base of another anti-discrimination southern Democrat president, Harry Truman, within 8 months of becoming President, and without a popular mandate, Johnson went against members of his own party and got enough Northern Democrats and Republicans to vote for the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which bans discrimination in public facilities.
The very next month, at the Democratic National Convention, which was basically a rubber stamp to nominate Johnson for a full term, controversy arose when a group of four black people arrived from Mississippi who had been elected by unregistered black voters in the state who weren’t allowed to vote in the Democratic primary. Once again, in defiance of the southern wing of his own party, he allowed the matter go to before the Credentials Committee and fully supported to seat the contingent as “at-large” delegates.
But the best was yet to come. In response to protests through the U.S. south about black voting rights, just nine months later, Johnson pushed through the Voting Rights Act, once again by uniting Northern Democrats and Republicans against Southern Democrats. The legislation outlawed other obstacles to voting, such as literacy tests (that black college professors failed) and the need for a guarantor (who already had to be a registered voter).
In the 1966 elections, southern blacks registered as Democrats in droves. After all, the Democrats dominated southern politics. The black voters challenged their more racist elected representatives in primaries and general elections, and despite attempts to hang on in the 1968 election by having many Southern Democrats break away from the Democratic party, it was a short lived victory as even the head of that movement, George Wallace, who had once stood at the entrance of the University of Alabama to try to keep blacks from registering there, eventually gave in and got the support of black voters to replace the diminishing number of racists who wouldn’t vote for him.
It should be no surprise that every law passed to making voting harder is passed by Republicans. That’s not going to endear them to black people who are old enough to remember when they weren’t even allowed to register, let alone vote.
Why do black Americans vote Democrat and hate Republicans when history has shown us that Black households have a better economic standing under Republican rule?
Saying blacks hate Republicans is gravely moronic. Stating that history has shown us that Black households have a better economic standing under republican rule doesn’t fool anyone just by stating it, doesn’t make people believe it.
Mia Love, the daughter of Haitian immigrants and the only Republican woman in the Congressional Black Caucus, also criticized Republicans for how they interact with minority voters.
Black people want to talk about race and racism. The Republican Party not only prefers to avoid this conversation, but lately throws its support behind elected officials with a history of racism. This party also proudly accepts support and endorsements from individuals and organizations that are outright racist.
Black people want to address policing in our communities. We want to talk about harassment and brutality. We want to talk about unfair surveillance, traffic stops, arrests, and sentencing. We want serious movements towards prison reform. The Republican Party only enters this discussion on a trivial level, like piecemeal jail pardons encouraged by celebrities or PR stunts masquerading as community activism.
Many of us want to talk about gun control, especially those of us who know have experienced the horrors of urban gun violence. The Republican Party doesn’t want to touch this issue at all.
Black people want to talk education, particularly how to improve our public schools. Meanwhile our current Secretary of Education is pushing private school vouchers and charter schools, things that just create more stratification's and disenfranchisement.
Black people care about social programs, even the ones that don’t directly benefit us, because we’ve seen that they work and can uplift communities. Republicans have been actively trying to remove and dismantle as many social programs possible for as long as I can remember.
Black people want to address voter suppression. Republicans repeatedly tell us this isn’t a thing, despite targeted gerrymandering, voter ID laws, voter roll purging, and other tactics that disproportionately impact our communities.
Black people care about economic disenfranchisement with regards to housing, employment, gentrification, loan access, etc. The Republican Party simply tells us that black unemployment is down and thus we should pick ourselves up by our bootstraps.
Black people want to talk about this country’s history. Republicans want to preserve some of the most hateful elements of this nation’s past, and hit us with revisionist versions of history as though we’re too stupid to know the truth.
The current republican party under president Donald J Trump does not reflect these priorities.
So if Republicans really want to bring in the Black vote, be willing to address the issues that matter to us without deflecting, attacking, denying or judging. Listen and learn rather than ignore and condescend.
In 1948, my late father ran for Congress as a Republican. There once was a time when most blacks voted Republican. Even the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was raised Republican. In recent times, however, the Republican party has "thrown away" the black vote and stomped on it. Instead of reaching out to the black voter, some have gone so far as to devise tricks to suppress or diminish the black vote, which I find most hateful and ugly. What happened to party of Abraham Lincoln?
How would you explain the fundamental differences between the Democrats and Republicans to a non-U.S. citizen?
Deeply Cynical View
Republicans
The party of the wealthy elite, looking to maximize short-term profits and wealth accumulation for the global capitalist elite
Use fear to encourage compliance, (bullying) foreign policy calculated to create enemies that supports that fear (and allow for taxpayer money to be directed to wealthy elite involved in military complex). Foreign policy also used to support the global capitalist elite.
They also rely heavily on nationalism and patriotism, a romanticized and myth-based version of the past in order to encourage obedience and acceptance of extreme policies.
Willing to speak to social conservative issues to win votes but party establishment not inclined to do much (don't need to do much since the Democrats take the other side on these issues, talking to them is often enough to win votes and then blame the other side for not being able to do anything)
This party philosophy has been handed down from Alexander Hamilton and the Federalists who after taking things too far died out only to revive themselves to take over the Democratic-Republicans, who became the Whigs and then the Republicans
Democrats
The party of the ruling elite, people who look to establish themselves and their friends in government to enjoy the power and privilege associated with it
Appeal to all the constituencies the Republicans leave out with their (obvious and blatant) focus on the wealthy elite. They don't have to do much in office (doing so would interfere with the enjoyment of office and run the risk of alienating one or another block of their diverse constituents) since Republican plans and talking points don't speak to this constituent's main issues (often in fact speaking directly against them).
Hope much more common than fear, expecting that confidence in the government will lead to people being more active and getting things done
Frequently hand power back to the Republicans when their do-nothing approach disappoints voters or they take their grab for power too far
This ruling elite legacy goes back to founding visionary Martin Van Buren whose presidency was less enjoyable than he had hoped because people kept expecting him to do something about the economic collapse (beyond bailing out the banks, which was of course a given even back then)
Slightly less cynical view
Republicans
Believe completely in the free market, let people operate freely and without government interference and everyone will prosper. Anyone who falls through the cracks can be taken care of by churches and non-profit charities.
Business owners are the most valuable (by far) people in the economy. In order to keep the economy going rewards for the business owners should be maximized, if you limit profits in any way there is no reason for those with money to risk it in investments in the United States.
The US will be respected and gain influence in the world through a strong military and insisting on its principles without compromise; compromise leads to a loss of respect
Democrats
Free market capitalism is flawed. Some balance needs to be in place against the advantages of wealth and large corporations that have led to a growing divide between very very wealthy and the poor. Government (and to a lesser degree labor union) is the only balance we've found that works.
Flaws in free market capitalism mean the economy is unable to provide opportunity to everyone willing to work. Unable to fix capitalism we should at least step up and cover the social costs of the labor force. This is done through government programs to help people left out at the bottom and through rules requiring business owners to pay more of the social costs of labor directly themselves (free labor market otherwise allows them to shift those costs to the public).
Instead of increasing rewards to the business owners (profits are skyrocketing already with all the productivity gains of the last 30 years going to the wealthy elite) we should make it easier for ordinary folks (without a millions of dollars to turn into tens of millions of dollars) to start and run their own business (complicated of course by the previous item).
Foreign policy platform is less bullying, if only a little bit less; often stuck dealing with the fear created by the Republicans.
Here is a similar framing of the issues, within the context of the upcoming election. And here is a much more detailed exploration of the policy differences between the two parties.

The only way to attack illegal activity is to focus on the illegal activity and its perpetrators, former President Reagan argued in a 1983 speech.
“You won’t get gun control by disarming law-abiding citizens. There’s only one way to get real gun control: Disarm the thugs and the criminals, lock them up, and if you don’t actually throw away the key, at least lose it for a long time,” he said.

The natural right to keep & bear arms protects all of our other natural rights. Two of the very few reasons government exists is to protect the country and protect the natural rights of its citizens. However, the government, fed and state, have abandoned their purpose and have made themselves the enemy of America and Americans. They not only fail to protect our rights, they steal our wealth to spend Attacking our natural rights and trying to replace them with socialist welfare & subsidies like murdering babies & state-mismanaged death care.
The Second Amendment is not about duck hunting…. It is about our rights, all of our rights to be able to protect ourselves from ‘All Enemies Foreign and Domestic’. This includes protections from a possible Tyrannical Government.”
