Alaska Democrats sue to kick their own incarcerated candidate off the ballot

Alaska Democrats have sued the Alaska Division of Elections to remove Eric Hafner, an imprisoned congressional candidate, from the November ballot.

Hafner, serving a 20-year prison sentence in New York for threatening officials, qualified for the ballot after two GOP candidates withdrew from the race.

Democratic leaders argue Hafner, who has never lived in Alaska, violates the residency requirement for congressional candidates, The Washington Examiner has reported.
