Jair Bolsonaro on blocking X: 'They want to silence our voice'

During participation in a campaign event for the candidate for Mayor of Contagem, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, this Thursday (9/5), former president Jair Bolsonaro said, without mentioning names, that the blocking of X, formerly Twitter, determined by the minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, is an act of censorship.

"They want to silence our voice. (...) Blatant censorship is there, and if you have any doubts, try sending a message to X," said Bolsonaro

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) also criticized the Supreme Court's decision before the former president arrived at the location. "Whoever is there with a VPN, call Twitter, to X," the senator urged. He also spoke of political persecution, while asking supporters to post on social media. Finally, he called for Alexandre de Moraes to undergo impeachment proceedings.
