Gang? Takes over parking lot weekly border of Aurora

I took this video on July 7th. I’ve lived here my entire 50+ years and I have never seen this, even growing up in Montbello with a very diverse population, including Hispanics.

On July 7, after church, we were going to stop in to Big Lots about 30 minutes before closing. As we were pulling in (my 16 yo was driving on her permit) a slew of cars started pouring into the parking lot. Within minutes, there were 50+ cars, and one started doing donuts. I told my daughter to leave and we will go across the street and call the police. The fireworks were going off by then, the music was loud, and the cars continued to spin around the parking lot.
It took 24 minutes for the police to arrive. We watched it from across the street: when the police arrived, the cars started leaving. We watched them leave, a good 80% had no license plate or an expired temp tag.

After they left, we went in and talked to the Big Lots employees. They said they have also called the police several times as this happens every Sunday night at the same time. Nothing has been done.

Big lots is now closing. I doubt it’s related, but I wonder if things will get worse.

We live close to this area in an unincorporated part of Arapahoe county. This is very near centennial, but considered aurora.

Every day in our area, you can count 10 cars on the road unregistered. I watched an interview from downtown where a “newcomer” (as our politicians in this state like to call them) was interviewed saying they pull their recourses together to buy a car…but as long as they drive careful they are never worried (about tickets or registering their cars).

Our governor wants you to believe everything is great here. It is not; I now fear when I run, and I never have. The homeless have exploded in our state, even with millions going to pay to house “newcomers.”
