Country music star Jason Aldean has found himself at the center of America’s national conversation on two major occasions over the past decade, and for very different reasons.

First, in 2017, Aldean was performing in Las Vegas as the largest mass shooting in U.S. history broke out, leaving over 50 of his fans dead and shocking the core of the nation.

Then, just last year, he became the censorship mob’s latest target after releasing what he saw as a fairly inconspicuous song, Try That In A Small Town.

What was it like to be at the center of those stories? And what’s caused the line between music and politics to become so blurred?

Jason Aldean joined today’s Tucker Carlson Show to break down his Vegas escape and talk politics in the music industry, transgenderism in schools, and more.

Jason Aldean, recalling the Las Vegas shooting:

“[There were] bullet holes in the front of my bus, and in the side. In my band bus, the windows got shot out of the side of my band bus. My bass player who was on stage with me, one of my best friends in the world for the past 25 years, had a bullet lodged in the bass he was playing… [There were] some close calls.”
