There was a $600 difference between picking up a minivan rental between two locations of the same rental car company, 10 miles apart in the busy suburbs outside of Buffalo. The rental car company has no tool on their website to find you the best rate by making your pickup location flexible, so when you are renting a vehicle make sure to not only compare companies with each other but also compare different pickup and drop-off locations of the same company with each other. You could pay twice as much as you should without doing research first.
