HOW IT ALL STARTED - THE BEGINNING || Gen 4:25-5:5
* Gen 4:25-26 After the dark painting of ‘the way of Cain’, a ray of hope lights up. We go back in time and hear about the birth of “Seth”. He replaces Abel. Seth means ‘compensated’ or ‘substitute’. Here we can see a general principle: what has been given to God or taken (back) by Him will always be compensated or replaced by Him. Seth also gets a son, “Enosh”, which means “man” in the sense of “weak man” or “mortal man”. From that name appears the faith of Seth. Unlike Cain and his descendants, Seth does not expect anything from man, but everything from God. It is therefore remarkable that precisely in the days of Enosh “[men] began to call upon the name of the LORD”

* Gen 5:1-2 After the bankruptcy of the human race via the line of Cain it is as if God starts history with man again. Cain and his descendants represent people who do not want to have anything to do with God. They build their own world where God is consciously excluded. God created man in a male and female form. He thus establishes marriage as the only form of cohabitation to produce offspring. He blesses them with all the good things of creation, including having offspring. Genealogies point out that people are important to God as individuals. Therefore, God refers to people by name, mentioning their life span and descendants. The next time you feel overwhelmed in a vast crowd, remember that the focus of God's attention and love is on the individual—and on you!

HOW IT ALL STARTED - THE BEGINNING . || Gen 4:25-5:5
* Gen 5:3-5 Adam was created in the likeness of God (Gen_1:26-28); people are begotten in Adam’s likeness. God’s likeness was perfect; Adam’s was imperfect and depraved, with the law of sin and death working in and bringing it to ruin. If Adam had sons and daughters after Seth, then he also had them after Cain and Abel. All human beings are related, going back to Adam and Eve. All people form a family that shares one flesh and blood. Remember this when prejudice enters your mind or hatred invades your feelings. Each person is a valuable and unique creation of God.

Personal Supplication
Father, help me see myself as a valuable tool in Your hand, to be used for your glory. Let my life point men to You in Jesus' name! Eph 2:10 TPT
10 We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!
