How mange is threatening the survival of Australia's wombats

A group of volunteers in southeastern Australia are on a mission to protect the wombat from mange, a skin disease caused by parasitic mites. Melina Budden, founder of the Blue Mountains Wombat Conservation Group, calls the disease a 'biosecurity issue' because it affects most of Australia's native mammals and can also infect livestock and immunocompromised humans.
