Serial killer ‘Sloppy Joe’ Metheny

Joe Metheny was an American serial killer who became infamous for his gruesome crimes in the 1990s. Metheny, who was active primarily in Baltimore, Maryland, was known for his brutal murders and for claiming to have dismembered his victims and served their remains in burgers to unwitting customers at his roadside food stand. He was arrested in 1996 and later confessed to multiple murders, although the exact number of his victims remains uncertain.
Metheny's crimes were particularly shocking because of the macabre details he provided during his confessions. He claimed that his violent behavior was fueled by a combination of drug abuse, a desire for revenge against his estranged wife, and a general hatred of humanity. Despite his claims, it's unclear how many of his statements were true or exaggerated.
In 1997, Joe Metheny was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He died in 2017 while serving his sentence.
