Time to take my lead, stop rubber-stamping decisions, and start demanding answers?

I would have loved to refer this project back to staff until the outstanding questions and concerns were addressed, unfortunately not one member of council would have agreed. There was also a strategic move made by one of the Councillor's asking for a recorded vote and if I had voted against the project, it would have looked like I didn't care about our waterfront when in reality this project is extremely needed, it's long overdue and I believe it is going to help revitalize the area and attract more people to the city of Pickering. I do look forward to seeing the completion and the protection of the wildlife and making this safe and accessible to all of our residents. As for the funding, I will continue to seek the answers and push forward to make sure we put checks and balances in place to eliminate any genuinely wasteful spending of your tax dollars.
