The Conservative councillor whose wife pleaded guilty to stirring up racial hatred after the Southport stabbings told Sky News it has been a "traumatic" time for his wife and three children.
Lucy Connolly admitted publishing a post on social media platform X about asylum seekers.
Speaking outside court, her husband Raymond Connolly said she was "an upset housewife" who got dragged into the situation by misinformation spreading online.
