Today I'm embarking on a DIY method of preserving wood with used motor oil. Most commonly, folks might be familiar with the technique used by railroad companies for the past couple hundred years to use creosote to treat the railroad ties and preserve them from insects and decay. In the video I'll show how I made a simple chamber to hold the oil and the post for soaking, added a handle and a pouring spout to be able to return the used oil into a storage container. And then I'll test it and try to answer some questions I think some of you might have regarding this project:)
Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions you might have!
